EVolve
EVolve is a smart web-based platform designed to make the process of finding and using electric vehicle (EV) charging stations more convenient, efficient, and automated. The primary goal of EVolve is to help EV owners quickly locate nearby charging stations with real-time availability updates. The platform is built using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQLi, and it provides an intuitive interface that displays the current status of charging stations, automatically updating when a user enters or exits a station. One of the key features of EVolve is its auto-scheduling system, which allows users to book charging slots in advance based on station availability, reducing wait times and preventing congestion during peak hours.
To enhance the user experience further, EVolve includes an email notification system that sends a unique QR code to the user once a booking is confirmed. This QR code is used to scan at the charging station for both entry and exit—ensuring accurate tracking of station usage without the need for manual updates. In future versions, EVolve plans to implement IoT-based number plate recognition, enabling a fully automated check-in and check-out process using cameras, eliminating the need for QR code scanning altogether. The project is hosted on an Apache server using XAMPP on an AWS EC2 instance and is secured with SSL to ensure safe communication. Overall, EVolve is built to support the growing need for smart EV infrastructure and aims to contribute to a more sustainable and user-friendly electric mobility ecosystem.
